Argentina Import data at Cybex.in revealed that the country imports machinery, organic chemicals, and petroleum at a voluminous range. To begin with, Argentina is one of the largest exporters of agricultural products. It majorly focuses on the export of soybeans and wheat. Other than this, Argentina (a country in South America) has also boosted its exporting capacity of wool and wine finished products. In the year 2019–20, farmers in Argentina delivered approximately 32 million tonnes of soybeans, which led the country to receive up to 15 billion USD worth of revenue. However, the charts of Argentina Soybean manufacturer’s profit has declined since oilseed workers in Argentina have been on strike since the second week of December 2020.

On 23rd December 2020, Argentina’s chief soymeal manufacturers tried to convenience the workers on strike to get back on work by putting forward a proposal. However, the oilseed workers union in Argentina clearly turned the proposal down and mentioned it as insufficient or not enough to compensate. According to the reports, the workers are persistently demanding increased wages as they have been suffering the consequences of COVID-19 at a deeper level. Indeed, the consequences of the strike impacted Argentina’s export data at a large level. Within 2 weeks of strike, Argentina’s exporters have been struggling to ship over 100 cargos — which are parked at the terminal for long enough.

Not only this, but soon enough, Argentina’s maritime and port union will also stand in favor of the workers. As per the Cybex Exim Solutions forecast expert, this will restrict the export of other commodities from Argentina. Indeed, the union has also publicly announced a 36-hours strike that will begin on Wednesday.

How will this impact Argentina Import and Export data?

Oilseed workers and grain inspectors in Argentina have rejected the manufacturer’s proposal without giving it a second thought. Indeed, this week, the workers also announced that they would spend Christmas on the strike spot to show resentment against the manufacturers.

Viewing the current circumstances in Argentina, it will soon lose its grip on the major export demands from other countries. If the union and manufacturers do not settle in the meantime, Argentina will have to face an unreasonable trade deficit. Hence, causing the public to suffer further consequences like high prices of commodities. Apart from this, the government bodies will also have to respond to the matter by taking strict actions. However, can Argentina’s year-old government be able to handle the force?

For now, oilseed workers are asking manufacturers to pay them for their labor till November 2020. Above all, the workers also desire to get a fitting raise starting this new year.
